Costa del Sol

Stretching from Malaga to Gibraltar, the Costa del Sol boasts over 325 days of sunshine each year, a warm sea temperature averaging 20 degrees, over 50 championship golf courses, some of the most picturesque scenery in Spain including the famed white-washed Andaluc¡an towns and villages. There are cosmopolitan marinas and coastal resorts, a plethora of water sports and an excellent choice of dining and shopping facilities. All this and only just over 2 hours flying time from the UK. First class medical facilities are available at the world renowned international hospital, situated only 4 kilometres from central Marbella. Likewise, with a choice of Spanish and international schools, educational standards are very high.

Torremolinos Transfer time from Malaga airport: 15 mins.

Torremolinos is the biggest of the Costa del Sol resorts. The 9km of beaches are more often than not packed with groups of all nationalities making the most of the sun. Night and day, Torremolinos is about having fun, fun and more fun, making it a popular resort with groups and young couples.

Mijas Transfer time: 20 mins

This 'pueblo' offers a taste of traditional Spain, with white washed houses set in cobbled streets. The views from Mijas are amongst the best on the coast. The village can be toured on a traditional donkey ride, taking in the numerous cultural buildings in the area.

Fuengirola Transfer time: 20 mins

Thanks to its privileged position, Fuengirola is commonly known as the 'Heart of the Costa del Sol'. And what a healthy heart it is. True to Andalucian tradition, Fuengirola is a place of easy living; relax on tree-lined promenades or along the long beautiful beach. When evening comes, feast on gourmet delights in one the many restaurants that line the streets before the atmosphere heats up for a typical night of enjoyment and fun.

Marbella/Puerto Banus Transfer time: 35 mins

The choice of the rich and famous, Marbella is one of the most colourful and cosmopolitan resorts of the Costa del Sol. With 28km of sandy beaches and two glittering yacht marinas, it has a vast commercial centre and an Andalucian town centre with attractive whitewashed houses and tree-lined squares. Southern Spain's answer to St Tropez. Puerto Banus is synonymous with wealth, fashion, glamour and parties. The high life and nightlife are characterised by rows of glistening luxury yachts, whilst the port also boasts fine bars and restaurants.

Estepona Transfer time: 45 mins

Estepona enjoys that irresistible combination of sun, sand and sea sports. Each awarded the Blue Flag, the beaches are among the best in the province and an action-lovers heaven: jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing and more are on offer. Be sure to experience the chiringuito (small open-air bars or beach restaurants). Here you can sample a variety of Spanish seafood eaten with a favourite local drink, tinto verano - red wine topped up with lemonade.
